Guided snowshoe hike: Seinerkreuz

In snow and good weather, this winter tour certainly ranks among the most beautiful snowshoe tours in the Graz experience region. The 360-degree view from Seinerkreuz is worth every effort made during the ascent.

From Hirschegg (Pongratzwirt), steadily ascending through the forest past the chapel of St. Bartholomew and across extensive alpine meadows to Seinerkreuz with a magnificent view. The return goes past the closed Saureishütte back to the starting point.

Meeting point: At 08:15 a.m., Köflach train station

Duration of the hike until around 3:00 p.m., return trip by taxi bus from Hirschegg to Köflach. Individual return trip from Köflach.

Trail length: 12 km | Ascent: 670 hm | Walking time: approx. 5 hours.

Arrival by public transport: by S-Bahn Graz – Köflach, transfer by taxi bus to Hirschegg and back (included), individual return from Köflach train station. 

Degree of difficulty: Medium snowshoe hike depending on snow conditions, 700 meters of elevation gain and 5 hours of pure walking time. Some steeper ascents and descents.

Equipment: Good waterproof hiking boots for winter required, snowshoes, ski or hiking poles, warm hiking/sports clothing (layering principle), backpack, gloves & hat, wind and snow protection, drink, snack, no stops during the hike.

Cost: € 15.00 per person, payable on-site to the guide.
Service: Guided hike with certified mountain hiking guides, transfers by taxi bus.

The guided hike is conducted by the Graz Region Tourism Association in cooperation with the hiking guides. Please note that last-minute changes may be possible. Participation occurs at your own risk.
