Nestled in the idyllic alpine landscape near Hirschegg, not far from the small St. Bartholomew chapel, lies a special retreat for connoisseurs and nature lovers: the inviting and charming Saureishütte. Anyone who stops here has truly earned their rest – as this rustic hut is only accessible on foot. The ascent takes about two and a half hours from Hirschegg or a little shorter from Pongratzwirt.
Upon reaching the top, visitors are rewarded with a view that quickly makes them forget the effort of the climb. On the small terrace with inviting wooden tables, one can linger wonderfully – surrounded by forest, meadows, and soothing silence.
Culinary delights await at the Saureishütte with a typically Styrian menu – down-to-earth, hearty, and lovingly prepared. In addition, there are always new delicious daily specials to tempt you.
The hut is open from early June until mid-September.
