Metnitz round- From Murau via Stadl/Mur and the Flattnitz

This challenging tour takes cyclists along the Murradway to Stadl an der Mur, where you branch off in the direction of Cantinthiaand return to Murau via the Flattnitz and Metnitztal valleys.
This tour has almost everything that makes a great day cycling trip. Oon the Murradway you first cycle through typical Styrian villages and along the green Mur. Here you are also not far from the narrow-gauge line of the Murtalbahn - watch out for the whistle signal and you might see the steam slow train snorting and smoking as it glides through the valley.
From Stadl an der Mur, you then head into the neighboring Carinthian countryside on an ascending track. Tourgh a wooded valley you reach Flattnitz in the Carinthian Metnitztal. Via antother valley with a winding rout through the so-calles Auwinkel (Laßnitz), you return to Styria and continue to Murau.

Coming from Judenburg via Unzmarkt to Scheifling. Turn right here and drive directly to Murau.
Coming from Tamsweg via Ranten (or Stadl an der Mur) drive straight on to Murau.
From the starting point of the tour, the WM-Hall, head east to the Stolzalpen traffic circle, where you take the first exit towards the center of Murau. Follow the road through the center of Murau and orient yourself by the markings R2, Murradway. The tour continues to St. Lorenzen ob Murau, St. Ruprecht and Stadl an der Mur. In the village of Stadl an der Mur, after the Murtalerhof Inn, turn left in the direction of the recreational facility and bathing lake. Pass the recreation center and follow a narrow road on the left, past a small housing estate in the direction pf Paal until you cross the state road. here you turn left onto the state road and follow it in the direction of Mechartboden to Flattnitz Höhe you go downhill for a whil until you reach the Metnitztal junction, where you turn left. Follow the Metnitztal Landesstraße until you reach the crossroads at the Seppmüller inn. Here you turn left in the direction of Wöbring and follow the course of the provincial road across Laßnitz. At the crossing vlg. Stampfer turn left in the direction of Murau. Follow the road via Wimml to Murau.
