Original Hirschegger Loden

Hirschegg-Pack

According to tradition, the first Hirschegg loden was woven by the "Langweber" and dates back to Roman imperial times. This old piece was and remains a symbol of a dying peasant trade, a piece of western Styrian cultural heritage. This strengthened the desire, long slumbering in the subconscious, not to let this garment finally fall into oblivion, but to revive it.

The "Hirschegger" - a wonderful story

The Hirschegger was created from the old familiar Hirschegger overskirt and thus revived. This old piece was and remains for him a symbol of a dying peasant trade, a piece of West Styrian "cultural property". This strengthened the desire, long dormant in his subconscious, not to let this piece of clothing finally fall into oblivion, but to revive it. The history of Hirschegg loden production presumably stretches back many centuries, some claims even go so far as to mention the Roman imperial period in this context.

Rudolf Konrad dedicated himself to "Hirschegger" at the beginning of the 1960s in the 20th century and has been offering the original Hirschegger Loden in many different ways ever since.
