A cheerful folk play with song: In a small mountain village, the clocks haven't been going right for some time

The Women's Putsch, a folk play by Franz Streicher

Everyday life in the small mountain farming village has been disrupted for some time. The men are spending more and more time in the village pub and with the waitress who works there. This takes on such proportions that the existence of many a small farm seems threatened. One Sunday, the situation reaches breaking point and the women who are suffering put an end to it. A plan is hatched to do the same as the men and spend the time in the pub. The men feel insulted in their masculinity. The ladies overshoot the mark and the "women's coup" finally escalates. Only the intervention of the authorities prevents worse. The mayor uses a little trick and everything is put right again.
