Schlossfestspiele Piber: What Women Want

A comedy of mistaken identity about the upstart Mr von Scheitermann and all kinds of misunderstandings. Premiere is on 2 October.

The former servant, the upstart Herr von Scheitermann, is married to the professor's daughter Josephine and feels inferior to her in every respect. When his former superior, Anton Muffl, presents himself to him as the new house servant, he finds himself in dire straits. Scheitermann comes under pressure as Muffl has a lot of knowledge about his miserable past.
The new maid, Peppi Amsel, was once in love with Muffl when she was still an actress. She now pretends to be Muffl's wife, and a turbulent comedy of mistaken identity ensues, just like in the old days. Scheitermann also wants to get rid of Muffl, as he threatens to reveal his origins to his wife Josphine. The play takes a rapid turn when the maid overhears a conversation between the two and misunderstands it.
