“Magic Table” - A Culinary Journey at the Museum

The beautifully set table, the festive trophy, the enchanting glass. This tour begins in the impressive room "Eating and Drinking" at the Museum of History, where a brief tour symbolically sets the table and asks: How much history is contained in a successful meal? Among glasses, cutlery, and plates, we inquire about the history of food culture, which can largely be told through these beautiful and impressive objects. We explore further rooms of the museum, touching on medieval dietary habits as well as viticulture in Styria. In the end, we might even delve into the history of coffee and cocoa?

Next, you will continue to the Restaurant Mohrenwirt. There, the table will not only be set symbolically but truly for you!

Dates: Friday, 09.01., 06.02., 06.03., 10.04., 08.05., 12.06., 10.07., 07.08., 04.09., 09.10., 06.11., 04.12.2026, each from 16:00 to approximately 18:15

Meeting point: 16:00 at the Museum of History (Sackstraße 16), 45-minute tour on the topic of food culture. 

At 17:00, the table will be set for you at Restaurant Mohrenwirt: 3-course menu (excluding drinks). End: approx. 18:15
