Digital Hiking Badge of the Graz Region
Collecting peaks and paths
The digital hiking badge in the Graz Region is a digital collection system for hikes. It works like a modern stamp pass: destinations are recorded along the way, tours are collected, and progress becomes visible – with bronze, silver, and gold badges awarded at the end.
Tracking is done via the SummitLynx app – all that is needed is a smartphone and a personal SummitLynx account.
Between Schöckl, Gleinalm, and Stubalm, a diverse hiking landscape unfolds, ranging from routes close to the city to alpine transitions.

Hiking Experience
The “Hiking Experience” badge is structured in three levels:
- Bronze – from 25 points
- Silver – from 50 points
- Gold – from 100 points
The Hiking Experience forms the entry point into the digital hiking badge system of the Graz Region. Routes of varying length and character come together here – from city walks to alpine pastures, viewpoints, and peaks.
Destinations include, among others, Altes Almhaus, Antonienhöhe, Apfelstein, Bernsteinhütte, Bilderbuche Straßengel, Buchkogel with the Rudolfswarte, the Obervoitsberg castle ruins, Graz city walks, and themed trails such as Sebastian RELOADED.
With the gold badge, a physical pin is also awarded, available for collection at the information office in Frohnleiten.
Summit Experience
The “Summit Experience” badge focuses on the distinctive elevations of the Graz Region. Selected peaks and viewpoints reveal the landscape from above – from Schöckl and the Schlossberg to the western mountain ranges. The following summits can be hiked and collected along the way.
As a reward for completed goals, an aluminium mug is available for collection at the information office in Frohnleiten. Lightweight and easy to carry, it is suited for breaks at mountain huts or on the summit.
Grazer Bergland Hiking Trail
The Grazer Bergland Hiking Trail is a multi-day long-distance hiking route north of Graz, covering around 103 kilometres. It consists of six daily stages with approximately 4,300 metres of elevation gain.
As part of the digital hiking badges, the route connects diverse landscapes – from forests and ridgelines to the settled areas of the Graz Highlands.
The stage-based hiking badge is structured in three levels:
- Bronze – after completing two full stages
- Silver – after completing four full stages
- Gold – for completing all six stages of the route
With the gold stage badge, an additional reward is included, designed for use along the way.
For this badge, each stage must be completed in full.
Reward for completing all stages
Those who complete all six stages of the Grazer Bergland Hiking Trail within one year receive, in addition to the digital hiking badge, a smartphone securing strap with drop protection from Easy Protect.
Designed for use outdoors, it complements time spent on the trail in a practical way.
The item can be collected at the information office in Frohnleiten.

The digital hiking badge in the Graz Region is tracked via the SummitLynx app. Tours, summits, and stages can be recorded and gradually built into a personal collection.
7 Summits Graz
The “7 Summits Graz” lead to selected peaks and viewpoints in and around Graz. The destinations are organised into three tours and can also be recorded and collected digitally.
The offer is part of the Tour de Steiermark and is managed independently of the digital hiking badge of the Graz Region. The destinations are also available in the SummitLynx app under “7 Summits Graz”.
