Cross-country skiing
Anyone who can’t stop thinking about cross-country skiing will surely find their very own Gesäuse on the trails. A Gesäuse that combines sport with the wintry mountain landscape. You glide along at your own pace, your heart beating strongly, and there they still are – those moments when you’re exactly where you want to be. Despite the cold and the rewarding effort, you can say: cross-country skiing in the Gesäuse – it gives you strength!
Whether classic or skating style, you can go cross-country skiing all over the Gesäuse region. In Hall there is a proper cross-country skiing centre with the Styrian trail quality seal and 33.5 kilometres of trails to explore. But cross-country trails are also groomed and skis can be unpacked in Admont, on the Kaiserau, in Kirchenlandl, Ardning and Palfau. If you haven’t brought your own equipment, don’t worry – you can hire everything you need from the Pörl Sport Shop in Admont or on the Kaiserau to get out on the trails.
