Kaiserau in winter
A winter all-rounder
At Kaiserau, you won’t miss out on anything when it comes to winter fun. Whether you’re skiing, cross-country skiing or simply strolling around – the high plateau is the perfect place to escape the fog in the valley and breathe in the crisp winter air.
On the Kaiserau, you can go classic or skate-style cross-country skiing on the roughly 5 km-long high-altitude trail, or get out at the car park and slip into your ski boots. There are two T-bar lifts, a platter lift and two magic carpets for the little ones. If you’re still a bit wobbly on your skis or snowboard, it’s best to pop into the Gesäuse Ski School, the only ski school in the Gesäuse. By the way, equipment is also available to hire.
