Sightseeing

When your head is really clear from hiking and the wild water, you can fill it again with knowledge and culture - the numerous museums of Admont Abbey are ideal, but also the festival in St. Gallen or the Castle Strechau in Lassing are real cultural jewels.

Unbeatable stunning

If Strechau Castle were a knight, it would sit at the round table right next to the king. The second largest castle in Styria is both a feast for the eyes and a highly interesting object to walk around. In addition to a breathtaking view, a beautiful castle chapel and a large wine cellar, there is also Europe's most complete classic car collection of the Styer brand to marvel at. Yes, these polishes are also part of Austria's history.

Good to know

The Gesäuse can be experienced even in bad weather. The numerous museums and exhibitions make this possible.

Discover your Gesäuse

The Gesäuse gives strength. We don't say that because it sounds good or because it's trendy. No, we say that because we feel it ourselves almost every day in body and soul. The Gesäuse is not a checklist to be ticked off, the Gesäuse wants to be found by everyone personally.

Eat & sleep

Sights

They are rustic and outspoken, the Gesäuse inns. And "regional" is not a code word in the Gesäuse, but a duty. In their backpacks they have a selection of Styrian classics to delight the palate. The traditional preparation awakens a thousand and one memories and, on balance, simply makes you blissful.

And there are also many cozy beds and nice places to stay: hotels, guesthouses, huts and campsites are scattered throughout the Gesäuse. Everyone is sure to find a comfortable bed for the night. Promise!
