Here you can find out everything about the accessibility of the paths and roads in the Gesäuse.
All information without guarantee!
On Monday, 2 November 2026, Ardningalmstraße will be completely closed between 7.30 am and 10.30 am due to pipework installation works in the vicinity of the property at Ardning 58 (Brandl) (see appendix)
Access to the Ardningalm is permitted only in emergencies for emergency vehicles. Pedestrians and walkers may pass through the construction site.
In addition, we would like to give you advance notice of the necessary complete closure of Ardningalmstraße due to timber felling work, provisionally scheduled for 16 to 21 November 2026 inclusive (please note that the dates are subject to change)!
To ensure everyone’s safety, the Ardningalmstraße must be completely closed to all users (vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians) without exception, daily from 7.30 am to 12.30 pm and from 3.00 pm to 4.30 pm!
As soon as the exact dates of the necessary road closure are known, we will inform you immediately.
With immediate effect, the Rauchbodenweg in the construction site area (Gstatterboden) will be closed until, it is expected, Friday inclusive. Access to the Buchsteinhaus is still possible via the Johnsbachsteg.
The Nothklammweg is now open again as far as the Steinkugelmühle and for a short stretch into the Nothklamm gorge. Access to the Kraushöhle remains possible.
The Nothklammsteg (on the map: section from point 2 to point 4) remains closed.
