Trautentalwirt - Gasthaus Rainer
Geistthal-Södingberg
Without frills, with a strong sense of good taste!
Culinary Delights Styria
Directly at the entrance of the idyllic village of Geistthal, at the foot of the Gleinalpe, is the Trautentalwirt, the Rainer inn. Lisa and Johann Rainer, together with brother Martin and parents Romana and Hansi, take great care to provide enjoyment, companionship, and many little moments of happiness with love, passion, and warmth.
For those who are now curious, you can get a glimpse from Friday to Monday: Not only the Trautentalwirt, but also the gentle hilly landscape and the beautiful hiking trails invite you to explore the former spa town, also known as "Little Heiligenblut".
The Rainer family and the ingredients of their dishes are deeply rooted in the region around Geistthal. Regionality and sustainability shape the house's path. Feel-good cuisine from forests, meadows, and waters is on the agenda here. The menu features traditional inn classics that evoke childhood memories, alongside seasonal vegetarian delicacies and fine fish dishes from their own pond – all prepared with a great sense of good taste. A treasure trove of organic wines from all over Austria, with more than 200 options, as well as a fine selection of cakes, sweets, and more, rounds off the culinary offerings. Additionally, the house has been awarded a golden star in the sustainability category by the Star Wine List.
For anyone who enjoys surprises, there is the TRARA, the limitless surprise menu once a month, a special highlight that makes a visit to the Trautentalwirt even more extraordinary.
