Der Voitsberger Schlossberg
Voitsberg
History meets nature and movement: the castle ruin, legendary mountain, archery course, and snack garden make the Voitsberger Schlossberg a versatile excursion destination.
The Voitsberger Schlossberg is the local mountain of Voitsberg and a place with many facets. Between forest paths, the ruin of the castle, art, and leisure activities, there is much to discover here. The Schlossbergsteig path leads up to the Obervoitsberg castle ruin, which is prominently visible above the town. Together with the Schlossbergarena, it provides a special setting for cultural events.
On the way, it's worth taking a closer look. At the West Styria Sagenberg, figures tell tales and stories from the region. Towards Zangtal, the Energy Adventure Park connects with various stations. It becomes more athletic on the archery course of the archers of Obervoitsberg, which leads from Zangtal to the Schlossberg.
Another side of the Schlossberg is shown by the Archduke Johann pleasure, sensory, and nibbling garden. The variety of plants and the insect hotel invite visitors to discover nature up close. Visitors finally encounter art at the foot of the Schlossberg: The Schlossberggalerie presents works by various artists behind glass, making them visible even outside opening hours.
This very mix makes the Voitsberger Schlossberg a versatile destination for excursions in the Lipizzaner homeland. Sometimes it’s about movement, sometimes history, art, or nature. Thus, the Schlossberg can be experienced a little differently with each visit.
