Waiting for Christmas
Christmas magic with Lipizzaners at the Piber stud farm: Children experience horses up close and playfully shorten the wait for Christmas with special moments
Waiting for the Christ Child is the theme on December 24th at the Lipizzaner Stud in Piber, Styria. When a calm, almost festive atmosphere envelops the stud and the scent of pine needles lingers in the cold air, a special morning begins for young horse enthusiasts. Winter sunlight sparkles on the branches while the Lipizzaners stand quietly in their paddocks.
During the children's tours on the stud grounds, meeting point in front of the ticket shop, young visitors get to know the world of the white horses. Playfully and with much closeness, they delve into the history of this traditional stud. How do the Lipizzaners live? What do they eat in winter? And why do they call Styria home? Answers are provided right on site.
A highlight is the visit to the horses in their paddocks. With a bit of luck, petting may also be allowed. The time until Christmas Eve passes almost like a flash. The tours last about 30 minutes and take place at 10:30, 11:30, and 13:30.
Tickets are available online or directly on site.
The Lipizzaner Stud Piber is closely connected to the region and is among the special excursion destinations of the Graz Region. Especially at Christmas, this place reveals its quiet side. A charming start to Christmas Eve in the land of the Lipizzaners.
