La Bohéme - Giacomo Puccini
It is bitterly cold, passionately loved, and dramatically died! Director Tobias Ribitzki turns once again to an opera that focuses on artistry and artistic creation, this time with Giacomo Puccini's masterpiece La Bohème, following his explorations of Hoffmann's tales. As one of the most legendary couples of all time, ensemble member Corina Koller (Mimì) and Pavel Petrov (Rodolfo) will be featured. At the podium, chief conductor Vassilis Christopoulos explores Puccini's zest for life, but also the deadly drama of the score.
Since its premiere in 1896, La Bohème has established itself as an integral part of the international opera canon. Famous arias, lyrical melodies, and the compelling dramaturgy make the work a popular introduction to the world of opera, as well as a highlight for experienced opera-goers.
The performance at the Graz Opera brings Puccini's masterpiece to the stage of one of Austria's most significant music theater houses. For visitors to the city, it offers the opportunity to experience opera culture in a historic setting and to spend an evening with one of the most moving works of the Italian repertoire.
La Bohème combines emotional storytelling with musical expressiveness and continues to be one of the operas that touch and captivate audiences worldwide.
