Day trip: Blooming Medicine in Stübing
At the Austrian Open-Air Museum Stübing, a tour shows what herbs heal, how our ancestors used them, and why their knowledge is still valid today.
Registration required!
The Austrian Open-Air Museum Stübing is located in a wooded valley north of Graz. On September 12, a guided tour through the World of Medicinal Plants will take place there. The focus is on herbs, flowers, and roots that have been used in folk medicine for centuries.
The tour explains which plants were used for which ailments, how farmers and farmwomen in Styria dealt with the herbal knowledge of their surroundings, and what still persists to this day. The museum provides a fitting setting: historical buildings, farmhouse gardens, and the natural surroundings of the site make the topic tangible.
