“The Opening”: On this beginner-friendly tour, you can discover the world of snowshoeing on a gentle ascent while enjoying the magnificent panoramic view over Kleinlobming. Practical amenities are available on site: snowshoe rental and cozy places to stop for refreshments ensure comfort and enjoyment.

For all beginners a great opportunity to try snowshoeing in the adventure region Murtal. In the flat area there is a special snowshoe trial zone, where you can get acquainted with the snowshoes and then it's off on the trial tour. This short tour offers not only a nice climb, but also a fantastic view over Kleinlobming. For those who have descended along the old lift route, there are also refreshment stops. There is also a snowshoe rental on site and great places to stop for refreshments.

From Vienna (approx. 2.5 hours):

Take the A2 towards Graz.
At 161-St. Michael junction, change to the S36 towards Judenburg.
Exit at Knittelfeld-West.
Follow the signs towards Großlobming.
Continue through Großlobming to Kleinlobming.
The Kleinlobming ski lift is located directly in the village and signposted.

From Graz (approx. 1 hour):

Take the A9 towards Linz/Salzburg.
Exit at Köflach/Voitsberg.
Drive via Köflach to Großlobming.
Continue to Kleinlobming.

From Salzburg (approx. 3 hours):

Take the A10 towards Villach.
At exit 63-Altenmarkt, change to the B320 towards Radstadt/Schladming.
Continue via Schladming to Liezen.
Join the A9 towards Graz.
At St. Michael junction, change to the S36 towards Judenburg.
Exit at Knittelfeld-West.
Drive via Großlobming to Kleinlobming.

Skilift Kleinlobming

The starting point is the parking lot in the village of Kleinlobming at around 745 m. From here, the marked trail initially leads slightly uphill along meadows and forest edges. After a few minutes, you reach the first sections of forest, where the path continues uphill in gentle hairpin bends. The ascent remains moderate and is suitable for beginners.

The trail then follows a marked circular route that leads through the forest over slightly hilly terrain. Small clearings open up several times with views of the surrounding slopes. After the highest point of the loop, the trail descends again, using the same path as the ascent in sections.

Finally, you return to more open terrain and, after a short passage across meadows, reach the starting point in Kleinlobming again

Additional safety gear in alpine terrain:
When snowshoeing in unsecured alpine areas, an avalanche transceiver, probe, and shovel are essential. They are vital for quick companion rescue in case of an emergency.

A stop is worthwhile in Kleinlobming's inns, where you will be served good home cooking, and afterwards for après ski in the pavilion by the ski lift.
