This challenging mountain bike tour leads from Oberzeiring in the Murtal adventure region on the toll road along the Tauernwindpark Lachtal to the Klosterneuburgerhütte.

The starting point of the tour is the centre of Oberzeiring (932 m) in the Murtal adventure region. From here, you first cycle approx. 1.8 kilometres along the asphalt road into the valley towards Lachtal and then turn right onto the mountain road. This leads - past the toll station - steadily uphill (first more steeply and then increasingly less steeply) and ends at the Klosterneuburger Hütte at (1879 m) cycle junction 6. After a cosy rest and refreshment, you can tackle the way back (same as the way there)!

The starting point of the tour is the centre of Oberzeiring (932 m). From here, you first cycle approx. 1.8 kilometres along the road into the valley and then turn right onto the mountain road. After a cosy rest and refreshment, you can tackle the way back (same as the way there)!

Walkers and hikers always have priority. Friendly and considerate behaviour towards pedestrians is a prerequisite. When encountering pedestrians, it is important to use the bell to make yourself noticed and to pass slowly. Mountain bikes are not permitted on footpaths and hiking trails.

Our nature and landscape is as good as unspoilt and beautiful. To keep it that way, we ask holidaymakers to avoid litter and unnecessary noise. In order not to disturb the animals, the mountain bike trails should only be used during the day:

from 1 June to 15 September from 9.00 am to 7.00 pm

from 16 September to 31 October from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.

Ride only on authorised, marked trails and never off the beaten track. The road traffic regulations must be observed on the forest roads!

Just as when driving a car, you should always ride on sight when mountain biking. On the frosty roads, you should expect to see wood on the carriageway and motor vehicles.

If you come across grazing cattle along the way, reduce your speed to walking pace to avoid the animals reacting incorrectly. Please always close pasture gates!

Proper self-assessment is essential for any sport! Never overtax yourself in terms of technique and fitness. This will also avoid accidents.

Important Don't forget money for the toll gate and enough drinking water, as the hut is not always open.

Mountain bike: roadworthy (e-)mountain bike with plenty of suspension travel, bike helmet, enduro or full-face helmet if necessary, elbow and knee pads if necessary, back and shin protector if necessary, day bike rucksack (approx. 20 litres) with rain cover, mountain bike shoes with ankle protection, weather-adapted and hard-wearing clothing in multiple layers (e.g. functional shirt, cycling jersey, bib shorts, arm warmers and leg warmers), shatterproof and durable clothing. Bib shorts, arm warmers and leg warmers), shatterproof cycling goggles, long-fingered gloves, air pump, cycling tools, sun and rain protection, provisions and drinking water, water bottle and suitable holder, first aid kit, pocket knife, mobile phone, mobile phone holder for the handlebars if necessary, headlamp and reflectors if necessary, maps.

there is a sheltered spot behind the Klosterneuburgerhütte for a rewarding rest.

There are other great places to stop for refreshments right in Oberzeiring, such as Cafe Strasser with its delicious pastries and homemade chocolate. Refresh yourself with a visit to the mining museum right next to the tourist office in Oberzeiring.
