Tour H3 - MTB - Wichtelhütte

The starting point of this tour is the parking lot at the war memorial at the top of the pass in Hohentauern in the Murtal region. From here, continue along the main road towards Sankt Johann for approx. 150m, then turn left onto a gravel path. Now cycle 3.7 km along the forest road to the Wichtelhütte, which is not open in summer. Return along the same route. Please note the opening times of the tours!

These tours are only permitted from May 15th - September 15th from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm!

Fair biking:

Some of the Hohentauern bike tours can be used by hikers and bikers alike. For the safety of all outdoor enthusiasts, we ask for mutual consideration and respectful interaction with each other and with nature!

- Only use expressly marked and approved paths, routes and trails!

- Do not leave any traces or waste in nature!

- Always ride at a controlled, appropriate speed and at half speed! - Respect other nature users. Overtake at an appropriate speed

- hikers always have priority!

- Keep to barriers!

- Do not ride off the path and close the pasture gates.

- Pay attention to signs and obey prohibition signs!

- Be considerate of the animals on the mountain pastures and in the forest. Give them a break (from people) and strictly adhere to the opening times!

On the way to the Wichtelhütte there is a cloud bench of the 7 heavenly places. If you take three Wolkenbankerl selfies, the Murtal tourist office will give you a surprise.
