Nice short beginner's tour for a nice hut excursion on the mountain bike in the Murtal adventure region in Styria.
This leisurely beginners' hike leads from Rachau in the Murtal adventure region in Styria along the Tiefenbachgraben to the newly managed Almausschank Wielender with good down-to-earth snacks. More information

Take the Knittelfeld OST exit and continue in the direction of Rachau or St. Margarethen bei Knittelfeld and then turn right onto Gleinstraße in St. Margarethen. We recommend that you always stay in the direction of Rachau bei Knittelfeld, as the access road to the Rachau treetop hiking trail is located near the Rachau town entrance/exit.

When entering "Mitterbach 25", most navigation systems will guide you to the Wipfelwanderweg via a somewhat longer and more complicated route. We therefore recommend entering the address "Rachau 97" (= Rachau municipal office), as this will take you directly to Rachau and you will then be able to follow the signs to Gleinstraße and the turn-off from there to the Wipfelwanderweg Rachau.

Car park Restaurant Fuchs & Henne
This tour leads from cycle junction 67 along the main road to the village of Rachau. Before the Stadl Cafe, turn left into Tiefenbachgraben. First we cycle on asphalt and then turn right onto a comfortable gravel path to the newly managed Almausschank Wielender. Afterwards, we return a short distance and turn right again into the Tiefenbachgraben.
Walkers and hikers always have priority. A friendly and considerate approach to pedestrians is a prerequisite. In case of encounters, it is important to make yourself heard with the bell and pass slowly. Walking paths and hiking trails may not be used by mountain bikes.

Our nature and landscape is virtually untouched and beautiful. To keep it that way, we ask holidaymakers to avoid litter and unnecessary noise. In order not to disturb the animals, the mountain bike trails should only be used during the day: from the beginning of May to mid-October.

Ride only on approved, marked trails and never off the beaten track. On the forest paths, the road traffic regulations must be observed!

As with driving a car, you should always ride on sight when mountain biking. On forest roads, wood on the roadway and motor vehicles are to be expected.

If you come across grazing animals on the trail, reduce your speed to walking pace to avoid wrong reactions of the animals. Please always close grazing gates!

Correct self-assessment is necessary in any sport! Do not overexert yourself in terms of technique and physical condition. This also helps to avoid accidents.
