Easy running tour from the center of Kobenz in the adventure region Murtal with a length of about 8 kilometers.

Along the former state road, known in Kobenz as the "old road", we walk to the intersection with the state road L518 from where we can already see the castle Hautzenbichl in the adventure region Murtal. The castle, which is owned by the Ranckh family, was first mentioned in documents around 1080. Up the castle hill we continue towards the Ziegelteich pond, from where we get back to the main road through the middle of Hautzenbichl and follow it back to Kobenz.

Exit Knittelfeld Ost from the Murtalsschnellstraße S36 and continue to the center of Kobenz.

We walk comfortably from the center of Kobenz on a lightly traveled asphalt road through Raßnitz, Reifersdorf to Knittelfeld. Slightly uphill to the castle Hautzenbichl and round through quiet residential areas and meadow paths the Ziegelteich before it goes downhill again on the bike path back to Kobenz.

We ask special caution when crossing the L518 in Kobenz. Jogging shoes, weather appropriate and breathable clothing, sun and rain protection, provisions and drinking water if necessary, cell phone, headlamp and reflectors if necessary.

A nice drinking stop is at the beautiful brick pond near Hautzenbichl Castle.

Travel with ÖBB to Knittelfeld and the regional bus line 841, 842, 843 to Kobenz. Almost hourly service from Monday to Friday.
