MTB - Tour - Tobiasalm

A pleasant uphill asphalt road from Kleinlobming into the Hintertal valley and then on a comfortable forest road to the Tobiasalm.

Walkers and hikers always have priority. Friendly and considerate treatment of pedestrians is a prerequisite. When encountering pedestrians, it is important to use the bell to make yourself noticed and to pass slowly. Mountain bikes are not allowed on footpaths and hiking trails.

Our nature and landscape is as good as untouched and beautiful. To keep it that way, we ask you to avoid litter and unnecessary noise. In order not to disturb the animals, the mountain bike trails should only be used during the day:

from June 1 to September 15 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

from September 16 to October 31 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Ride only on approved, marked paths and never off the beaten track. The road traffic regulations must be observed on the forest paths!

Just as when driving a car, you should always ride on sight when mountain biking. On forest roads, you should be aware of wood on the road and motor vehicles.

If you come across grazing cattle along the way, reduce your speed to walking pace to avoid the animals reacting incorrectly. Please always close pasture gates!

Proper self-assessment is essential for any sport! Never overtax yourself in terms of technique and fitness. This will also avoid accidents.

Mountain bike: roadworthy (e-)mountain bike with plenty of suspension travel, bike helmet, enduro or full-face helmet if necessary, elbow and knee pads if necessary, back and shin protector if necessary, day bike backpack (approx. 20 liters) with rain cover, mountain bike shoes with ankle protection, weather-adapted and hard-wearing clothing with multiple layers (e.g. functional shirt, cycling jersey, bib shorts, arm warmers and leg warmers, shatterproof cycling goggles, long-fingered gloves, air pump, bike tools, sun and rain protection, cycling shoes with ankle protectors, long-fingered gloves, air pump, bike tool Bib shorts, arm warmers and leg warmers), shatterproof cycling goggles, long-fingered gloves, air pump, cycling tools, sun and rain protection, provisions and drinking water, water bottle and suitable holder, first aid kit, pocket knife, cell phone, cell phone holder for the handlebars if necessary, headlamp and reflectors if necessary, maps.

The nearest train station is Knittelfeld. From here, take bus line 847 to Großlobming or Kleinlobming. Please note that at weekends and during vacation periods this line is only available to a very limited extent. Here you can travel the 5 km to Großlobming or 11 km to Kleinlobming with a regional cab company - available directly at Knittelfeld station. If you stay overnight in one of the hotels, they often offer a pick-up service from the station.
