A short and easy leisurely cycle route starting directly from Camping Wildbolz: the route covers around 15 kilometres through the Aichfeld region and follows sections of the cycle route network in the Murtal. A leisurely ride, open countryside and relaxed stretches around Fohnsdorf, Spielberg and Zeltweg make this route ideal for campsite guests, families and leisure cyclists.

This short, leisurely cycle route starts right at Camping Wildbolz and takes you through the Aichfeld over a distance of around 15 kilometres. With very little elevation gain, the route is straightforward both technically and in terms of fitness, making it ideal for a relaxed ride straight from the campsite.

The route winds through the open countryside between Fohnsdorf, Spielberg and Zeltweg, following sections of the Murtal cycle knot system. The numbered junctions and signposting help with navigation along the way, making the tour particularly enjoyable for anyone looking for a hassle-free ride.

The route is peaceful and enjoyable: easy-to-cycle sections, hardly any significant climbs and frequent views of the surrounding Murtal countryside make the loop particularly straightforward. This makes it ideal for campsite guests, families, leisure cyclists and e-bike riders who want to go on a short cycle ride without too much effort.

By Car

From Vienna (approx. 2 hours):

  1. Take the A2 towards Graz.
  2. At St. Michael junction (161), switch to the S36 towards Judenburg/Knittelfeld.
  3. Take the Fohnsdorf exit.
  4. Follow the B77 towards Fohnsdorf.
  5. Follow the signs to Camping Wildbolz.
  6. The campsite is located on the southern edge of Fohnsdorf and offers parking directly on site.

From Graz (approx. 1 hour):

  1. Take the A9 towards Linz/Salzburg.
  2. At St. Michael junction (161), change to the S36 towards Judenburg/Knittelfeld.
  3. Take the Fohnsdorf exit.
  4. Follow the B77 towards Fohnsdorf.
  5. Follow the signs to Camping Wildbolz.

From Salzburg (approx. 2.5–3 hours):

  1. Take the A10 towards Villach.
  2. At exit 63-Altenmarkt, change to the B320 towards Radstadt/Schladming.
  3. Continue via Schladming to Liezen.
  4. Join the A9 towards Graz.
  5. At St. Michael junction, switch to the S36 towards Judenburg/Knittelfeld.
  6. Take the Fohnsdorf exit.
  7. Follow the B77 towards Fohnsdorf.
  8. Follow the signs to Camping Wildbolz.

The tour starts right at Camping Wildbolz. From the campsite, the route first takes you out of the Göttschach area and down into the open valley of the Aichfeld. The first few kilometres are a gentle downhill or flat ride towards Spielberg and are ideal for a relaxed warm-up.

As the route continues, it winds through the open countryside around Spielberg and Zeltweg. Along the way, the route utilises and crosses sections of the cycle knot system in the Murtal. The signposted junctions provide good orientation along the way and make it easy to follow the route or adapt it to suit your needs.

After the southernmost section, the route heads back towards Fohnsdorf/Göttschach. Finally, there is a short climb back to Camping Wildbolz before you arrive back at the starting point.

Parts of the route follow the cycle knot system in the Murtal. The numbered junctions make it easier to find your way and allow you to shorten or extend the route flexibly, depending on the time available, your fitness level or the weather. Please also use the GPX track or the up-to-date cycle map.

It is easy to get there by train and bus. There are regular train services via Judenburg or Fohnsdorf stations. From there, you can take one of the Aichfeldbus regional bus routes or a taxi to get close to the campsite. Depending on availability, shuttle services and cycle hire are also available for the final few kilometres. Please check the current timetables.
