The Hirnkogel tour is a challenging tour. The ascent is rewarded with a breathtaking view of the Pölstal mountains.

In the Pölstal valley, particular importance is attached to the preservation of unspoilt nature. So that people's enjoyment does not become a problem for wild animals and nature, consideration is required.

For the sake of nature and the environment, correct behaviour in the mountains is the top priority for hikers.

- Use the designated car parks

- Do not block any access roads and please observe local driving bans

- Observe information boards at the starting points and stick to the recommended marked routes

- Avoid approaching wild animals

The Pölstal can be reached via several main roads, including the B96 and B97. If you are coming from Graz, you can take the A9 motorway and then exit onto the main roads leading into the Pölstal valley. Follow the signs in the direction of Pölstal.

From the Scharnitzkohler car park along the forest path past the hunting lodge, the summer path to the Wildalmhütte. Follow the summer path westwards into the large cirque floor. From here either directly or slightly to the right over a ridge to the summit.

It's worth stopping off at the Wildalmhütte!
