This wonderful hike or Nordic walking tour on forest and meadow paths shows us small hidden places, past enchanted-looking ponds to the Schachenkirche. Numerous vantage points invite you to take photos of Seckau in the Murtal adventure region.

On this varied hike or Nordic walking tour, we start at the Jufa Seckau in the Murtal adventure region and walk past the Seckau Abbey to the Seckau middle school. There we keep to the right and walk downhill through the forest until we reach the Nikolausgrabenweg. At the end of this path we cross the L517 and enter the Schachenwald and make a detour for a rest to the baroque Schutzengelkirche. Now the path leads us back via Neuhofen past the Kahlbacher farm to Hart and back to Seckau.

From St. Michael in Upper Styria via the Murtal expressway S36 (subject to vignette) to the exit "St. Lorenzen"; continue in the direction of Knittelfeld via Kobenz to Seckau. (27 km, approx. 20 minutes).

From Judenburg via the Murtal expressway S36 (vignette required) to the exit "Knittelfeld-Ost"; continue via Kobenz to Seckau. (30 km, approx. 25 minutes).

Possibly Nordic walking poles (no telescopic poles), possibly light running backpack (approx. 5 to 10 liters) with rain cover, jogging or walking shoes, weather appropriate and breathable clothing, possibly Nordic walking gloves, sun and rain protection, possibly provisions and drinking water, cell phone, possibly headlamp and reflectors.

A good place to rest is the baroque Schutzengelkirche in the Schachen near Neuhofen.

The village of Seckau can be reached by bus. The nearest train station is in Knittelfeld.
