Families who would like to avoid the difficult initial ascent can simply take the cable car up to Kreischberg’s summit or the chairlift in Lachtal valley. A total of eight impressive mountains invite you to celebrate summit victories together – among them, Frauenalpe, Zirbitzkogel and Preber. Once you reach the top, countless scenic views of the Nockberge and Niedere Tauern are waiting for you.

You’ll bike through flowering meadows, along the emerald-green river Mur and parallel to the historic Murtal railway. An unforgettable experience for all family members!

Your little ones will be happy to hear that there are also numerous playgrounds along the popular hiking trails and cycle paths. What’s more, many of the playgrounds in the Murau region feature different themes. At the wood-and-water playground at HolzWelt Murau, for instance, everything revolves around ... wood and water, of course!

Hole in one: minigolf in the Murau region

Skill and patience are required when playing minigolf. The minigolf course at Knappenwirt in Zirbitzkogel-Grebenzen Nature Park boasts a total of 18 holes to test your putting prowess.
