In the region’s ski huts, traditional inns and restaurants, you can enjoy regional dishes, hearty home-style cooking and specialities made with locally sourced ingredients.
Regional specialities include Murtaler Steirerkäs cheese, Zirbitzlamm lamb, fish, honey, game, Murauer beer and products made from Swiss stone pine. Many of these products come directly from the region and are also available from local producers and farm shops.

One of the winter season’s special highlights is the FIS Big Air World Cup, taking place at Kreischberg from 7 to 9 January 2027. International freeski and snowboard professionals will showcase spectacular jumps and tricks, bringing the excitement and atmosphere of the World Cup to the Murau Region.
