Gasteiger circular hiking trail

We hike along a varied, well-signposted route with themed information boards that highlight historical and landscape features.

We start at the Großreifling train station, where we can also visit the Austrian Forestry Museum Silvanum. From there, we continue to the “Alter Kasten” and the church of St. Nicholas, cross the Enns bridge to the right, and pass the old log-driving remains. Then we turn right across the Salzabauern bridge to the Mooslandl 1 estate, the Salzabauer.

We follow the Karl August Trail with a scenic “Salzablick” toward Gams, continue via Schweinhalt to Obergams, past the Gampmeier and up to the Radstatthöhe. Through Sulza, we reach the Ganser millstone quarry, where we enjoy panoramic views over Landl and the Gesäuse mountains.

From Pumperl, we descend to the Radstatthof. Refreshments are available at the AVIA fuel station Moser or at the Landhotel Mooswirt in the Landl leisure park. Afterwards, we walk through Dörfl, along the Steinwandweg, and return to our starting point in Großreifling.
