Easy tour close to the city centre, which can be started in the centre of Liezen. Hike over the Kalvarienberg to the Salberg. There are different routes here that always lead you back to the centre of Liezen.

The Salabergrunde is quite demanding and is suitable for a short but also longer hike in the immediate vicinity of the town of Liezen. The varied route starts at the panorama panel on the town hall square. The route runs mostly on natural ground, first at the foot of Calvary Mountain to a chapel built around 1770. Along the Phyrnbach stream back to the starting point or the other way round.

Take the Ennstal road (B 320) or the Pyhrn motorway (A 9) to Liezen.

Main road in the direction of Brunnschmied - turn right over the Pyhrnbach bridge - Rainstrom - Arzbergweg - Unterer Reiterweg or Oberer Reiterwg - as far as the Knappensteig - Wildfütterung crossroads - follow the Untersalerweg - then head N/O to the Nikolaus Waldweg - this leads into a forest path. Wald-Weg - this leads into a forest path - then follow a path to the Pyhrnbach (bridge) - follow the forest path upwards to the junction Irenenweg (forest path sharp left bend) - Irenenweg along the Pyhrnbach - town centre.

The loop is very well suited for runners who want to work off their energy.

The Green Zone at the Pyhrn car park is valid from Monday to Friday from 07:00 to 17:00. The cost of parking is € 0.10 per hour, so you can park for the whole day in the Green Zone at the Pyhrn car park for € 1.
