This trail has everything in it. For the demanding cross-country skier as well as for the beginner. For the skater as well as for the classic.

This trail takes you along fields next to the main road to the Steirersiedlung – crosses the road in front of the »Schaupphof« farm, where there is an option to switch to a trail back to the Riesneralm car park, or continue on towards the valley head to the Meng farm. From here it is only ca. 150 m to Hinterwald resort village with refreshment opportunities at the village inn (take off your skis, the trail does not go all the way to the village).

Coming from the B320, at the Trautenfels intersection in the direction of Irdning. Then direction Donnersbach, Donnersbachwald.

The trail leads from the Riesneralm valley station across a large meadow and lightly wooded area in the direction of Schaupphof (refreshment stop) and further along the Donnersbach stream in the direction of the Hinterwald vacation village (refreshment stop). From there the trail leads back on the same track to the big bridge and then continues on the other side of the creek back towards the village. At the Steirersiedlung there are two options for continuing. Either you stay on the trail back to the valley station Riesneralm or you cross the main road and run along the stream to the beginning of Donnersbachwald. Here you cross the bridge to the children's ski area and take the winter hiking trail to the left immediately after the bridge back to the Riesneralm valley station. The trail is divided into 3 sections:

to the Steirersiedlung junction (H1), 2.4 km there and back
to the Ginzenbrücke junction (H2), 4.8 km there and back
to the Dorfschenke (H3), 8 km there and back

Tip: At the entrance to the valley station you will find the "Reschenboden" beginners trail as part of the Hinterwald cross-country ski trail, which has two loops of approx. 480 and 800 m. This is very well suited for beginners to practice, for professionals to train or simply for a "cross-country skiing quickie".

With the train to the trainstation ,,Stainach-Pürgg'' and with the bus 941 to ,,Riesnerlam''.
