Since 2019, Karin Bauer has been running the family business at Rubmannsberg in Mooskirchen. Karin is a certified fruit brand sommelier and also completed a specialized training in fruit farming and fruit processing. The name Bauer-Prall is composed of the family name and the colloquial name. This ensures that the farm name is not forgotten. The estate, classified as a heritage farm, has been in the possession of the Bauer family, also known as Prall, since 1724.
Our own vineyard covers 2.5 hectares, from which approximately 6,750 liters per hectare are pressed. We process our own grapes as well as grapes from trusted grape producers from southern and western Styria. These are vinified into classic Styrian quality wines. The various vineyards with their different soil types allow for a variety that includes all the typical grape varieties of Styria. The classic Schilcher, vinified from the Blue Wildbacher grape, is the main variety of western Styria and holds a special significance at the Bauer-Prall winery. The primary rock weathered soil on the Ried Zirknitzberg is characteristic of the crisp, fruity Schilcher, while the Ried Zirknitzleitn with its deep, mineral-rich soils produces substantial Pinot varieties with a fruity style. Vineyards: Zirknitzleitn, Zirknitzberg White grape varieties: Welschriesling, Weißburgunder, Sauvignon blanc, Gelber Muskateller Red grape varieties: Schilcher and Zweigelt
