Weidendom

Near the Stift Rein, the Weidendom grows as a special place of encounter in the midst of nature. The approximately seven meter wide and up to four meter high dome is made of living willow branches and changes its appearance with the seasons. It is surrounded by a nature-friendly garden with insect-friendly plants and biodiversity hedges. Seating made from local wood invites you to linger and observe.

The Weidendom is accessed via the Sensory Path of Nature designed by the Landjugend Eisbach-Rein. The individual stations encourage visitors to perceive the surroundings with all their senses, take a moment to pause, and discover nature from new perspectives.

The creation of the Weidendom is also special: schools, clubs, nature organizations, social institutions, and numerous volunteers all contributed to its construction. Thus, a place was created that connects nature experience, learning, and community.

Workshops, guided tours, and events impart knowledge about forests, biodiversity, and ecological relationships, making the Weidendom a diverse destination for people of all ages.
