Windhof Circular Trail (R12)

This circular route runs east of Semriach and opens up a शांत landscape with scenic sections. Although none of the seven peaks above 1,000 m in the Semriach area lie directly on this loop, one of them – Windhofkogel – can be included via a short detour. Two others are often visible in the distance: Höchtrötsch and Schöckl.

The first part of the Windhof Circular Trail leads across open terrain with wide views over the village and far beyond to the Styrian border mountains. A highlight along the route is the pilgrimage church Ulrichsbrunn with its idyllic setting of benches and a fountain with fresh spring water. A longer section then runs through the forest, where there is the option to include the Windhofkogel with its summit cross. The subsequent descent again follows scenic stretches down into the Rötschgraben valley. The Rötschbach stream offers easy opportunities to cool off and continues through the well-known Kesselfall Gorge, which can be explored as a separate tour.
