SkillThe tour in numbers
The tour starts at Der Trattner – Hotel Schöcklblick with views of the Schöckl. The route passes well-kept farmhouses and follows Schöcklstraße northwards. Along the panoramic road, wide views open up towards the western Styrian mountains and the Hochschwab range. Via Ritzendorf and Anger bei Passail, the route continues on Hinterleitenstraße to Gasthof Brandlhof, offering impressive views of the Almenland, Teichalm and Sommeralm.
The tour then heads towards Semriach with a turn-off to Niedertrötsch. A short walk to the Oldi Hulzhitt’n on Fragnerberg and to the Peace Cross is worthwhile. Via Parz-Trötschwirt and Dreihöfen, the route reaches Gasthaus Häuserl im Wald, known for the traditional Semriach soup. From Semriach-Pöllau, the tour continues to the Lurgrotte Semriach, Austria’s largest dripstone cave. The final stop is Semriach’s market square, ideal for a relaxed break in a café or confectionery.
