Scenic from Peggau to the Semriach plateau with panoramic views and a Lurgrotte highlight.

eggau is an easily accessible starting point, either via the Mur Cycle Path or by S-Bahn, which allows bicycle transport. The route begins on the eastern bank of the Mur and follows the quiet Hieningstraße, climbing through forested switchbacks around 400 metres in elevation to reach a green high plateau. At the top, wide panoramic views open up across Mount Schöckl and the Graz Highlands.

The market town of Semriach invites a break with its charming main square, parish church and cosy cafés. A detour to the Lurgrotte Semriach is well worth it; a jacket is recommended for the cool temperatures inside the cave. The route continues to the Häuserl im Wald inn before descending on quiet, partly steep roads towards Frohnleiten.

In Frohnleiten, the Volkshauspark offers a pleasant place to rest. The return to Peggau follows the eastern variant of the Mur Cycle Path. Alternatively, the Lurgrotte Peggau can be visited, offering fascinating insights into prehistoric life and geology.
