Haneggkogel - the one with many variations

Open
In the middle of the Graz Bergland, this not so high cone offers beautiful short tours through shady high forests and great views - ideal for an excursion with the whole family.
The suggested tour from Adriach is a little steeper, but the panoramic trail rewards you with beautiful views of Frohnleiten, the Mur valley and the mountains beyond, making the summit and the views all the more enjoyable - and after the descent, a stop at the Gasthof Dorfwirt in Adriach is highly recommended. From the Ebenwirt on the Schenkenberg from the west, the Haneggkogel can be climbed without much elevation gain and the descent to Zitoll and Deutschfeistritz is also worthwhile - stop off at the Poldlwirt inn along the way.

More information

Von Graz aus über  S35 Richtung Bruck, in Frohnleiten abfahren und der Beschilderung Richtung Adriach folgen.
From the parking lot past the church. Follow the signs for trail no. 533/532 and follow the forest road. After about 5 minutes, you can choose between the panoramic trail or the somewhat more challenging "direct trail" through the forest. After arriving at the Jöllersattel with the first view after about 45 minutes, continue along the path and after another 45 minutes you will arrive at a comfortable forest path before the last ascent to the summit. The summit is reached after about 15 - 20 minutes of ascent. The summit rewards you with a great view over the Graz mountains (Rote Wand, Hochlantsch,...)
Those arriving by public transport on S-Bahn line 1 can hike from Frohnleiten via the Haneggkogel to Deutschfeistritz in around 4 hours. Always worthwhile is a stroll through the historic center of Frohnleiten, the Volkshauspark on the banks of the Mur and St. George's Church in Adriach.
Mit dem Zug nach Frohnleiten. Danach ca. 30min. Fußmarsch zum Einstieg in Adriach
In Adriach driekt bei der Kirche oder davor beim Friedhof.
