This hike leads from Friesach through forests and across the Hiening ridge to Semriach. The route combines woodland, meadows and cultivated landscapes.

From Friesach, the trail climbs through the forest, with some steeper sections. The route then follows the Hiening ridge through gently rolling cultivated landscapes and past individual farmsteads to Taschen (812 m). From there, follow the paved road downhill to Semriach.

Car:
From Graz, take the A9 towards Bruck to the Peggau exit, then continue via the B67 to Peggau railway station. From there, take flux shared taxi or a bus to Friesach.
From Bruck, take the S35 towards Graz to the Peggau exit, continue to Peggau railway station, then take flux or a bus to Friesach.

From the Friesach bus stop, the route initially climbs along a forest trail, with some steeper sections. The trail then follows the Hiening ridge through gently rolling cultivated landscapes and past individual farmsteads to Taschen (812 m above sea level). From there, follow the paved road downhill to Semriach.

Train: Take the S-Bahn from Graz or Bruck an der Mur to Frohnleiten, then continue by flux or bus to Friesach. Return by S-Bahn from Peggau railway station.

Parking is available at Peggau-Deutschfeistritz railway station.
