Explore the meadows and pastures around Köflach and Piber on the Conversano Circular Trail. The easy route passes the Grub and Wilhelm outlying farms and leads to the Piber Stud Farm.

The Conversano circular trail leads from Therme NOVA in Köflach through the meadows and pastures of the Lipizzanerheimat to Grub Outlying Farm and on to Piber Stud Farm. The route continues along forest and paved paths to Schachner Tavern and past Wilhelm Outlying Farm before returning to the starting point.

The easy trail combines varied scenery with views of Piber Stud Farm and Piber Castle.

Car:
Take the A2 motorway to the Mooskirchen exit. At the roundabout, take the third exit onto the B70 towards Köflach. In Köflach, continue straight through the first roundabout, then keep right towards the town centre after about 200 m. After another 450 m, turn right onto Piberstraße (L345). The Therme NOVA Köflach is about 900 m further on.

The tour starts at Therme NOVA at Dechantteich. Passing the secondary school and following Schachnerweg, the route reaches Piberstraße. After crossing the road, continue to the chapel and turn left onto the meadow trail “Am Grubkogel”. The route crosses meadows and gravel paths to Grub Outlying Farm, where young Lipizzaner stallions may be seen during the summer months.

Continue along the gravel road, passing through a shady avenue of chestnut trees in summer, towards the fire station. Cross the main road to reach the entrance to the Piber Stud Farm. At the large car park, turn left onto the gently rising paved road for around 600 m, then turn left into the forest.

The gravel trail climbs moderately through mixed woodland. At the junction at the edge of the forest, follow the signs to the right and reach Schachner Tavern. From there, turn left onto the paved road towards Wilhelm Outlying Farm. Young stallions may be seen here depending on the season. After around 500 m, turn back into the forest and follow the familiar trail to Therme NOVA. The route is signposted in a counter-clockwise direction.

Visit the Piber Stud Farm and the life-size Lipizzaner sculptures at the entrance. In summer, young stallions can be seen at Grub Outlying Farm.

Bus & train:
Take the S-Bahn to Köflach railway station, then walk approx. 1.2 km to Therme NOVA. Alternatively, take RegioBus 702 to Köflach Therme Nova, or RegioBus 714, 721 (via Hitzendorf) or 720 (via Lieboch) to Köflach Sparkasse/Hauptplatz, followed by a walk of approx. 800 m.
