Ruam-Kirtag
The Ruam-Kirtag in St. Pankrazen combines a horse market, Styrian cuisine, music, and a children's program into a traditional Sunday for the entire region.
Admission is free!
At the Ruam Kirtag in St. Pankrazen, lived tradition, horses, and Styrian sociability come together. On Sunday, October 11, 2026, celebrations, watching, tasting, and of course a bit of chatting will take place around the Kirtag – especially where the horses are at the center of attention.
The free horse market will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Horse passports are required for participating horses, and stalls are available. At 9:30 a.m., the Holy Mass will begin, followed by the opening of the Kirtag with the choir of the Lipizzaner homeland. Regional cuisine and a children’s program are scheduled on the main stage.
Culinarily, the Kirtag remains firmly in Styrian hands: The St. Pankrazen innkeepers and associations provide local delicacies for sustenance. Those who want to try their luck can also participate in the raffle – with main prizes including a three-year-old Noriker broodmare, a Haflinger filly, and an air conditioning unit.
A bonus of € 50.00 per horse is planned for the horse drive. There are plenty of parking spaces and a free shuttle taxi available until 8:00 p.m. Thus, the Ruam Kirtag connects horse tradition, regional cuisine, and communal celebration into a true piece of Styrian Kirtag life.
St. Pankrazen is accessible by public transportation.
