“Rejoice, be glad” three days before Christmas – it is rare to experience Bach's “Christmas Oratorio” so close to the holiday today

Michael Hofstetter ignites with the Camerata Styria and Recreation the full splendor of the choirs and the intimacy of the chorales. Aco Bišćević guides the shepherds with a bright tenor to the manger, where Maria Hegele sings a lullaby to the baby Jesus. Before that, Ludwig Mittelhammer belts out his "Großer Herr, o starker König".
