Dark secrets, hidden traces, and the Mur as the setting: On Thursday, October 29, at 7:00 p.m., the Kunsthaus Köflach will become a "crime scene." As part of the exhibition "SIMULTAN," a crime evening with author Robert Preis is on the agenda.
The focus is on his novel "Graz and the Dark Waters of the Mur." The story takes place through the streets of Graz and continues into Styria. In this context, the Mur becomes a symbol for what is hidden and for secrets that lie beneath the surface.
At exactly this point, literature and visual art intersect. While Franz Dampfhofer, as a "trace rememberer," captures multifaceted memory fragments in his paintings, Robert Preis works with language and suspense. A connection that has also grown personally: The author and the West Styrian painter share a long-standing creative friendship. In the past, collaborative literary-artistic projects have already emerged.
With the exhibition "SIMULTAN" as a backdrop, the crime material gains an additional visual resonance space. Following the reading, a guided tour of the exhibition is possible. Admission is € 15.00, and registration at kunsthaus@koeflach.at is required.
