Organ concerts in Graz

Sunday, 02 August 2026 - Sunday, 06 September 2026 Show all dates

Six organ concerts in the Graz Cathedral will present renowned organists and special concert formats from August to September 2026 in one of the most significant sacred spaces of the city.

Tickets required!

The Graz Cathedral will once again be the venue for a concert series in the summer of 2026, which focuses on the diversity of organ music. On six consecutive Sundays between August 2 and September 6, works by international organists and ensembles will be performed in one of Graz's defining church spaces.

Selected organ concerts will be offered:

  • August 2, featuring the Franz Schmidt Prize winner Christoph Preiß from Würzburg
  • August 9, with Ruben Sturm from Munich presenting a program titled “Munich Organ Music”
  • August 16, the walking concert “Leechkirche – Cathedral” with Pier Damiano Peretti from Vienna connects two significant church spaces in the city. Meeting point and evening box office will be at the Leechkirche.
  • August 23 is dedicated to “L’Esprit de France” featuring French-influenced soundscapes. Participants include the concert choir of the cathedral music, cathedral organist Christian Iwan, and cathedral kapellmeister Melissa Dermastia.
  • August 30, the Dutch organist Ben van Oosten will perform with the program “Symphony-Passion” at the Graz Cathedral.
  • September 6, the concert “Sonata” with Martin Sander from Basel/Munich.

All events start at 7:30 p.m. The concert series offers the opportunity to experience different interpretative approaches, international artistic personalities, and various facets of organ music. This way, the cathedral music of Graz sets a musical highlight in the Graz cultural summer and makes the Cathedral a meeting point for friends of spiritual and classical music on six Sundays.

Admission:

  • For the concerts on August 2, 9, 16, and 30 & September 6: € 15.00 / € 11.00 for students and Ö1 club members
  • For August 23: € 25.00 / € 15.00 reduced.

Tickets can be obtained at the evening box office or in advance at Graz Tourism, Herrengasse 16.

The Graz Cathedral is accessible by public transport.
