Long Night of Museums

From the Styrian Thal to Hollywood – the life story of Arnold Schwarzenegger is one of the most extraordinary careers of an Austrian. At the ORF Long Night of Museums on October 3, 2026, his birthplace will be open from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. and will make this story tangible through numerous original exhibits.

The official Arnold Schwarzenegger Museum is located in the house where Schwarzenegger spent part of his childhood. The exhibition follows his most important life stages: from childhood and youth to an international bodybuilding career and major Hollywood successes, to his time as Governor of California. Memorabilia, photographs, and exhibits from film and career provide personal insights into his life journey.

For the Long Night, there will also be a special program. Childhood friend Peter Urdl will guide visitors through the museum and share personal stories and humorous anecdotes from Schwarzenegger's life. For younger visitors, there will be a treasure hunt that playfully takes them through stations like childhood, bodybuilding, film career, and governorship.

Thus, a visit to the museum becomes a journey through a life between Thal, Terminator, and international career – and a piece of Styrian history with a Hollywood factor.
