Köflach Krampus Run

When twilight sets in Köflach and the ringing of the bells echoes through the streets, one of the most atmospheric customs evenings is approaching. The Köflach Krampus Run brings numerous visitors to the city center on November 21, 2026 and makes old traditions experienceable in an impressive way.

About 50 Krampus groups from Austria and neighboring regions parade through the Köflach city center. With intricately carved masks, traditional furs, bells, and elaborately designed garments, the participants showcase the diversity of alpine tradition. The groups present their figures with great respect for the inherited traditions and create a special atmosphere along the route.

The run offers the opportunity to get to know different variations of the Krampus being. Families, tradition enthusiasts, and onlookers experience an evening where history, craftsmanship, and regional culture come together. The city center of Köflach provides the perfect backdrop and becomes a meeting point for visitors from all over Styria.

Even away from the run, the event invites attendees to linger. Conversations with like-minded people, observing the groups, and the special ambiance make the evening a fixed date in the regional event calendar. Admission is free!

After the Krampus run, the celebration continues in the Köflach sports hall at the aftershow party. The Köflach Krampus Run combines lived tradition with social gatherings and is one of the well-known autumn events in the Graz Region.
