Japanese traditions, artistic expressions, and culinary insights shape the Japan Festival in Frohnleiten. On Sunday, the 6th of September 2026, the main square will become the stage for a four-hour cultural program centered around Japan from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The announced offerings connect different areas of Japanese culture. The program includes Bon-Odori, bonsai, and origami as well as calligraphy and iaidō. A tea ceremony adds to the cultural contributions, while sake and Japanese goods showcase further facets of the country. The spectrum ranges from dance and design through calligraphy and traditional practice forms to culinary themes.
The event organizes its program points under the themes of tradition, culture, art, and culinary arts. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about several Japanese forms of expression in one place in just one afternoon. The main square in Frohnleiten serves as the central venue in the Graz region.
