Handwerk als Kulturgut - Ausstellung
The exhibition "Craft as Cultural Heritage" on the Graz Mur Island showcases the diversity of craftsmanship in the Graz Experience Region and highlights the people behind the businesses.
Craftsmanship stands for skill, creativity, experience, and the passion of the people behind it. The exhibition “Craftsmanship as Cultural Heritage” on the Graz Mur Island makes this diversity visible and provides insights into 20 selected craft businesses from the Graz experience region.
The range of showcased trades spans from wood, ceramics, and glass to jewelry and textiles, as well as special food products. At the center are not only the finished products but above all the people, their stories, and their craft skills. Photographic insights show work processes, materials, and tools, making visible how traditional knowledge, years of experience, and contemporary ideas interact. This perspective on the individuals and the processes of creation also forms the core of the joint project.
As part of a joint project of the Department for Economic and Tourism Development of the City of Graz, the Graz Museum, and the Graz Experience Region, the exhibition “Craftsmanship as Cultural Heritage” was created. It invites you to discover the diversity of regional craftsmanship and the people behind it from a new perspective.
