After the summer break, the Polsterlkino Ligist returns with an evening that pleasantly connects cinema with autumn enjoyment. Before the curtain rises for “Four Mothers for Edward” on October 10, the churchyard smells of freshly roasted chestnuts. There will also be Schilchersturm, other drinks, cakes, and savory snacks – the best conditions to get into a cozy movie mood even before the film starts.
On the screen, a dramedy awaits with plenty of family chaos. Edward, a writer, is on the brink of his professional breakthrough while simultaneously taking care of his strong-willed mother. When he is offered a reading tour through the USA, everything could be wonderful – if it weren’t for his friends who spontaneously travel and park their mothers with Edward. Suddenly, he finds himself not just with one, but with four headstrong women under his roof. Peace definitely looks different.
The Irish film combines humor with heartfelt and chaotic moments and tells how quickly a carefully planned everyday life can go awry. Directed and written by Darren Thornton and Colin Thornton, the main roles feature James McArdle, Fionnula Flanagan, and Paddy Glynn.
