Festival Eröffnung steirischer herbst

The grand opening of the Styrian Autumn 2026 at Karmeliterplatz and in the Helmut List Hall
On Thursday, September 24 at 5 p.m., the steirische herbst opens at Karmeliterplatz with the opening speech by director Ekaterina Degot and the subsequent wrestling performance Paradise Lost: This Fight is No Sign (2026) by Julian Warner – an exciting staging of the culture wars of our time, in which surprising alliances form (free admission).
Starting at 8:30 p.m., the opening day will continue in the Helmut-List-Halle with the dance performance Angelic Conversations by Alex Baczyński-Jenkins (ticket required, available at steirischerherbst.at) and the subsequent opening party (free entry).
