Exhibition: evento
Painting and printmaking by Herta Angerer at the Arik Brauer Town Hall in Voitsberg.
The exhibition “evento” by Herta Angerer at the Arik Brauer Town Hall in Voitsberg showcases painting and printmaking from many years of artistic work. The exhibition will be opened on February 27 at 7:00 PM. The welcome will be given by Mayor Mag. Bernd Osprian, with the laudation by Prof. Mag. Dr. Franziska Pirstinger, musically accompanied by Martini Rosso.
The diversity of what has happened, experienced, and felt is reflected in the painting process on the canvas. Improvisation, supported by an art historical foundation, leads to a unique visual language. Travels leave traces. Fragmentary images emerge, open like spaces of thought. Colors and shapes appear, retreat, and rearrange themselves.
In addition to large-format paintings, lithographs, etchings, nudes, and screen prints are on display. In the print techniques, the joy of experimentation is particularly evident. Lines act like notes, surfaces like memories. Following the time of Corona, new “pictures of home” arise, viewing the familiar in a different light.
Prof. Mag. Herta Angerer, born in 1946 in Voitsberg, lives in Bärnbach. Her path led from studying at the University of Graz through the Pedagogical Academy in Graz-Eggenberg to the diploma examination in Visual Education. For many years, she was a professor at the Federal Commercial Academy in Voitsberg. Projects such as “art in the square” and "Reading Pleasure in the Square" in Bärnbach shaped the cultural life of the region.
“evento” connects biography, travel, and the present. An exhibition from Styria, rooted in the Graz Region. On view during the office hours of the municipality of Voitsberg.
